UPSC Invites Applications For Deputy Director (Safety) (Mechanical) Post

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the post of Nautical Surveyor-cum-Deputy Director General (Technical) to be hired by Directorate General of Shipping under Ministry of Shipping. Candidates willing to take up the post can apply for the same till November 16, 2017 (Thursday). The number of vacancy is 5 reserved for UR (2), OBC (1), SC (1) and ST (1). The qualified candidate would be given pre-revised pay scale- PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/- plus Grade Pay Rs.7600/- Revised Pay Scale- Level-12, Cell No.1 as per 7th CPC. (Total Emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.78800/-p.m. approximately). The job location is Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai but the selected candidate will be required to serve anywhere in India. The post carries probation of one year.
Eligibility Parameters:
Age: Not exceeding 50 years for unreserved candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 55 years for Scheduled Caste Schedule Tribe candidates and 53 years for Other Backward Class candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to five years as per instructions/order issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
Educational Qualification: Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship as recognized by the Government of India.
Experience: Five years’ service as Deck officer, after obtaining the certificate of competency of second mate (Foreign Going), of which one year must have been in capacity of a Master on a Foreign going ship.
Keep in mind that Extra Master’s Certificate of Competency or Master of Science Degree in Maritime Affairs awarded by a recognized University and Experience in survey would be preferred. Also inspection of merchant ships and examination work for one year or more on the date of submission of application to the Union Public Service Commission will be desirable qualification. (more)

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the post Assistant Director (Physical Education) to be hired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Pahargaon, Port Blair under Andaman and Nicobar Island Administration. Candidates willing to take up the post can apply for the same till November 2, 2017 (Thursday). The number of vacancy is 1 reserved for UR (1), OBC (0), SC (0) and ST (0). The qualified candidate would be paid as PB-3 Rs. 15600-39100 plus AGP of Rs. 6000 Emoluments Rs.48, 600/- (Excluding HRA and SCA). The location is Port Blair, Andaman Nicobar Islands. Eligibility Parameters:

Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s Degree in Physical Education with 55% marks OR Master’s Degree in Sports Science with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic record.
  • Record of having represented the University/ Collegeat the Inter-University/ Inter-College competitions or the State and/ or National Championships.
  • Passed in the National Eligibility Test (NET) OR SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment as University Assistant Director of Physical Education/ College Director of Physical Education and Sports.
  • Passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with the norms specified under
12 minutes run/walk test (Male): Up to 30 years: 1800, Up to 40 years: 1500, Up to 45 years: 1200 and Up to 50 years: 800.
12 minutes run/walk test (Female): Up to 30 years: 1000, Up to 40 years: 800, Up to 45 years: 600 and Up to 50 years: 400.

  • Teach students the physical fitness techniques, sports playing, and guide them toward living a healthy and active lifestyle.

UPSC 2017: Civil Service Exam Tips To Revise Quickly Edit

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the annual Civil Service exams for the Central Government at three levels: Preliminary, Main and Interview.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the annual Civil Service exams for the Central Government at three levels: Preliminary, Main and Interview. The Candidates passing these exams secure the highly prestigious services such as Indian Foreign Service, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and the like. The Civil Service exam happens annually for filling numerous vacancies in the Central government department. Roughly 980 vacancies are said to be filled through the exam this year. The Detailed Application Forms (DAF) for Civil Service Exam 2017 has been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The candidates who cleared the prelims will have to register themselves and fill in the DAF and move on for the Main exam that will, as per the official notification, be conducted from October 28, 2017 (Saturday) to November 11, 2017 (Friday). The qualified candidate seeking admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination must apply online through the Commission’s website (www.upsc.http://gov.in) by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF) and uploading the scanned copies of the required document within the prescribed time limit so that DAF is submitted by the applicant on time. However, the OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates will be required to fill the OBC proforma along with the Detailed Application Form, on line.
Exam Centres and Overview: The Main Examination will be held at Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada. The candidates should note that under no circumstances will they be allowed to change in centre, optional subject, Indian language paper (paper-a) and medium of examination they have indicated in their filled online CS (p) application form.
